The historical society has diligently worked for over 35 years to preserve the town's history and allow residents to explore the town's roots through programs, events, and the interactive museum. The society has its own fascinating history, the land upon which the society's headquarters stand was donated by Samuel J. Kurtz, who wrote the first written history of Sanatoga. The society's building is a former Christian Sunday School dating back to 1891. The chapel was constructed by volunteers in the community who believed the town needed a meeting place to worship. In the late 1890s, Sanatoga community members gathered, planned musical plays and programs to fundraise, and built the building as a team. The building itself represents the hardworking community of Sanatoga and is the rightful sight of the historical society.

The museum run by the historical society is open to the public featuring exhibits with books and photographs dating back to the town's origins. The historical society proudly preserves historical artifacts relating to the original Sanatoga Race Track, Sanatoga Park, and Ringing Rocks Park. You can also view class photos of former Sunday school students at the museum amongst several historical memorabilia. The museum is certainly a must-see for all those visiting Sanatoga.
