Pottstown Municipal Airport is a public airport just to the east of the CDP of Stowe. Owned by the Pottstown Borough, the property was originally purchased by John Vasco and Charles Novaxk in 1946. They began constructing buildings on the land a year later and held an open house on September 26, 1948. In 1961, a 2,700-foot long runway was constructed. The airport was initially known as Basco's Airport or Stowe Airport. In 1965, another taxiway was built parallel to the first one. In the 1980s, a business park was also added to the property.
Today, Pottstown Municipal Airport has a total area of 63 acres. It includes one asphalt paved runway and is home to Witmer's Aircraft Service, which is operated by Fly Elite. The aircraft services offer a full suite of repair services and aircraft maintenance. Fly Elite also offers regular fixed-base operator services, flight training and aircraft rentals. As of 2004, Pottstown Municipal Airport has been the host of the Annual Airport Community Day event to raise awareness for general aviation in the local communities.
