The neighborhood is situated within the Southwest section of Philadelphia in the state of Pennsylvania. Its boundaries have not been distinctly set, but Cobbs Creek is to the west, Cedar Park is to the east, West Philadelphia is to its north, and Kingsessing is to the south. The town has two bus lines, the Angora Commuter Rail Station on the Media and Elwyn Line, and a trolley line that intersects at 58th Street and Baltimore Avenue.

Early growth between 1918 and 1920 was restricted to the 5800 block of Baltimore Avenue in addition to an area known as Sherwood Forest.
