Saint Joseph's University

Saint Joseph's University is a private university in Lower Merion and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Bala Golf Club

Bala Golf Club is a private golf course just southeast of the Bala neighborhood. Situated on Belmont Avenue, it is the closest private golf club to Center City, Philadelphia. The club was founded in 1901 by George Reach, Charles Hickman and a group of prominent Philadelphians. When it first opened, the site was laid out by Willie Tucker and featured a 9-hole, 2,747-yard layout with a 35-1/2 par. In 1923, notable golf course designer William S. Flynn was hired to renovate the course and add in nine additional holes. Today, Bala Golf Club is open seven days a week to its members. It provides golf lessons, golf outings, a golf shop, the Grill Room at Bala, and more. The golf club is the perfect place to enjoy exclusive activities with friends and families and host your next wedding, corporate event, meeting, banquet and party.
