Bethayres is an unincorporated community within the Lower Moreland Township of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It got its name in the 1870s when the Reading Railroad arrived in the area. The son of Elizabeth Ayres, a local woman, named the railroad station where he worked after his mother. Thus, the community around the station slowly became known as Bethayres. Ayres house on 2410 Huntingdon Pike is now owned by the Huntingdon Valley Presbyterian Church.

Elkins Field is a low-lying park owned and managed by the Township of Lower Moreland Department of Parks, Trails and Recreation. As a natural basin for flood water, it is also used as a passive open space for residents in the community of Bethayres and its surrounding area. The township is currently drafting a Master Site Plan to add a trail and other park amenities to the park.
