Edge Hill

The unincorporated community of Edge Hill is located within the Township of Cheltenham in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Other unincorporated communities found within the township include Glenside, Laverock, Wyncote, Cedarbrook, Chelten Hills, and La Mott. It is situated along Pennsylvania Route 152 and lies between Pennsylvania Route 73 and Mount Carmel Avenue. 

History

Historically the area was part of Philadelphia County. It was established by a group of 15 English Quakers, including Tobias Leech and Richard Wall. They purchased a tract of 4,070 acres from William Penn. Other members of the group included:

• John Day
• William Brown

Mills along the Tookany Creek fueled the area's economy. Many villages and communities developed around the mills forming many neighborhoods. One of the earliest mills established was a gristmill owned by Richard Dungworth and formed in 1690. 

Neighborhood

The neighborhood offers its residents two options for event venue rentals. These include Vue Studio and Knights of Columbus, both located on Limekiln Pike. Vue Studios has a 1,200 square foot space that clients can fully customize. The Knights of Columbus has been rated 4.4 out of 5 stars, and many have declared that the space and food service was top-notch. 

Education

Education is essential to the townspeople, and as many as 34.4% have earned an advanced degree. The Cheltenham Township School District serves the community. Many of the zoned public schools include:
