About Northwest Philadelphia

Northwest Philadelphia is a portion of the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. These include Valley Green Inn, Wissahickon Hall, Cedars House, Livezey House, Monastery House, Hermitage Mansion, Thomas Mansion, RittenhouseTown, Fingerspan Bridge, Wissahickon Memorial Bridge, Walnut Lane Bridge, Thomas Mill Covered Bridge, Kitchen's Lane Bridge, Mom Rinker's Rock, the Indian and Toleration statues, Devil's Pool and Creshein Creek.

Charles W. Henry School

Charles W. Henry School is a historic elementary and middle school in Northwest Philadelphia. Designed by architect Henry deCourcy Richards, it was built from 1906 to 1908 by Cramp & Co. The two-story, 20-bay, red brick building is of the Colonial Revival architectural style. On November 18, 1988, it was added on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

Part of the Philadelphia City School District, the school has a population of 520 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of 17 to 1. Offering classes from Kindergarten through 8th grade, 55% of its students are proficient in reading and 35% are in math. Charles W. Henry School has a GreatSchools rating of a 4 out of 10 and a Niche overall grade of a C.
