The borough of Kenhorst is located in the southern region of Berks County in the state of Pennsylvania. It takes up 371.2 acres with a density of 4,551.8 people per square mile. The nearest communities include Shillington, Grill, Ridgewood, Wyomissing, and Berkshire Heights. Angelica Creek flows across the southern border of the borough. Hancock Boulevard forms the western edge, and Lancaster Avenue creates the northern.
The area was named after two large estates, one owned by the Horst Family and another estate owned by the Kendall Family. When residents began petitioning against the excessive streetlight tax, lack of fire protection, and lack of street improvements, the area was granted incorporation. The two names were honored to form the town's name, and it was officially incorporated in 1931.
The St. Stephen's Memorial Cemetery is within the community, located on New Holland Road. This historical Polish National Catholic Church and Cemetery were established in 1897 under the lead of Rt. Rev. Francis Hodur. Due to their conflicting beliefs and desires for running their parish, they officially ex-communicated themselves with the Roman Catholic Church. The existing parish was formed in 1927 and the property by 1936.
Another historical landmark is St. Nicolas Chapel, part of the St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church located on South 3rd Street. The parish was founded in 1903 by a group of immigrants that fled the economic conditions and religious persecutions of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in Russia. The property was purchased in 1905.
