The park also features a parking lot with direct access to the nature trails and a small picnic ground. The second lot on Harmony Hill Road offers direct access to the East Branch Brandywine Trail. If you enter through this lot, you can also catch a glimpse of the Gibson-covered bridge to the east.

M. Johnson Nature Center

  • Located at 810 Skelp Level Rd, West Chester, PA 19380, the nature center spans 23 acres and offers visitors a multi-use trail that grants access to the Sugar Bridge Nature Area trails. The nature center was named after M. John Johnson, the previous president of the West Chester Fish, Game, and Wildlife Association, and PECO Energy privately owns the nature preserve. You will find cyclists on the paved trails and many pedestrians jogging in the early mornings at the nature center.

Ingram's Mill Nature Area

  • The nature preserve spans 36 acres along the East Branch Brandywine Creek. The preserve was named after a stone mill that once stood nearby the banks of Brandywine Creek. The park offers stream access to Harry J. Waite Jr. Nature Area, which is only a 1.8-mile paddle distance passing through the Natural Lands’ Stroud Preserve. The nature preserve is a serene location for residents looking to dissociate from the hustle and bustle of the downtown area.
