Pennside is a census-designated place (CDP) in the Lower Alsace Township and Exeter Township of Berks County, Pennsylvania. Located approximately six miles east of the City of Reading, it is in proximity to the areas of Mt. Penn, St. Lawrence, Stony Creek Mills, Jacksonwald, and Reiffton. Carsonia Park

Carsonia Park was established in 1896 by the United Traction Company as a trolley park. A designated for its trolley service, the 145-acre park operated in Lower Alsace Township until 1950. During its operating years, the park initially consisted of peaceful gardens, a lake and natural springs. Shortly after, rides and attractions were added to it. Today, the area that was once Carsonia Park is home to many housing developments and a public park that was also named Carsonia Park. It features a public swimming pool, lake and the popular Beer Garden restaurant. The park is bounded by Butter Lane, Park Street, Carsonia Avenue and Parkview Avenue. Its open field, lake and playground offer a great place for residents of Pennside to spend time with friends and family and to host a variety of community activities.
