Reasons Why Our Richmond Personal Injury Lawyers Love General Pulaski Park

The Delaware River is full of parks and piers where you can take in beautiful views of the river, its bridges, and the Philadelphia skyline. Our Richmond personal injury lawyers love spending time in the outdoors at these numerous green spaces during the warmer months of the year. In Port Richmond, one of our favorite riverfront parks is General Pulaski Park. This is a great place to fish, have a picnic, or take the dog for some outdoor playtime. Here are some of the reasons why we love General Pulaski Park:

Fishing

If you visit General Pulaski Park during the spring, summer, or early fall, there is a decent chance you'll spot some anglers casting fishing lines into the waters of the Delaware River just off of the pier. This is a neighborhood hotspot for reeling in catfish. This is always a great way to relax on a nice summer day, especially as a bonding experience for families. Bring a picnic basket and take a break to enjoy a good meal before returning to try your hand at reeling in some Delaware River fish.

Picnics

During weekends in the summer, you're also likely to see several families enjoying picnics at General Pulaski Park. This is one of our favorite ways to spend summer days together as a family. It's got a true neighborhood feel, as neighbors socialize together while taking in views of the beautiful Delaware River.

Revitalization of General Pulaski Park

General Pulaski Park is named after a Polish military commander and hero of the Revolutionary War. Located on a half-acre of green space between two industrial sites at the intersection of Richmond Street and Allegheny Avenue, this park was once forgotten because of the fact that it's largely obstructed by an I-95 overpass. But in the mid-2000s, a non-profit conservation group called Pro Arte Associates began a revitalization project with assistance from other organizations, such as the Friends of Pulaski Park, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, and the Polish Business Association.

The revitalization project plans to sink the highway, get rid of nearby parking lots, and revitalize Pulaski Park and the rest of Port Richmond's waterfront.
