The lawyers of personal injury in Hollywood bring you this article. We are thrilled to provide you with informative content on the unincorporated community.
Hollywood is an unincorporated community within the southern part of the Abington Township of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Well known for its Southern California-style homes, the neighborhood got its start in 1928 when Gustave Weber, a builder from California, filed plans to build the small subdivision. Featuring 174 homes in pastel colors with flat rooms like those of the Spanish-style homes in Los Angeles, the area was also supposed to include Moravian and Southern California tile sidewalks with plants. However, the plants died because of the cold and the tile cracked. Weber never finished the subdivision like how he planned it to be.
In the 1940s, a local developer took it upon themself to finish the development. Streets in the neighborhood were named San Diego, San Gabriel, Pasadena and Los Angeles. The area has been listed as eligible for national registry by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. This allows residents to apply for federal grants to help maintain its historical characters. The community is located close to Jenkintown, Fox Chase, Rockledge and Meadowbrook.
