Brandywine Battlefield Park was established to preserve, interpret and share the impact of the largest single day land battle of the American Revolutionary War, the Battle of Brandywine. Administered by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) and the Brandywine Battlefield Park Associates, the commemorative park was created in 1949. Through the preservation of the cultural landscape, it serves as an educational space for the public. The park, located on Birmingham Road, is open Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission fees range from free to $8 for adults. It includes an 18-minute orientation field, guided house tours of the Gideon Gilpin House and Washington's HW, and access to the museum. Walking the grounds of the park is free of charge.
